The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has officially opened registration for Wastecon 2022. Wastecon is SWANA's annual conference which brings together people from throughout the solid waste industry. This year's summit will be located at the San Diego Convention Center and will take place from December 5 through December 8. A discounted early bird rate for registration is available now through September 30.
SWANA's Executive Leadership Summit has a schedule packed with waste management industry hot topics. Keynotes will be addressing workforce engagement, trust, electric vehicles, and the circular economy to name just a few topics. In addition to keynotes and sessions, the program includes a Safety Summit and leadership intensives. The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) and SWANA will also be co-hosting a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) Summit as part of the conference. Wastecon will bring together leaders and managers in waste management and public administration from across the country. The exhibit hall already has more than 100 vendors represented.
"SWANA is very excited to return to California and hold Wastecon in San Diego," says David Biderman, SWANA's executive director and CEO. "Our California chapters are hard at work preparing for and organizing events that will provide terrific networking opportunities. San Diego is a beautiful city, especially in early December."
This year is Wastecon's 60th anniversary. The original Wastecon took place in San Diego, making this year's event a return to where it all began.
