As a category of heavy-duty machine engineered specifically to provide scrap recyclers with the versatility to process heavy metal materials as well as light metals - creating logs, bales or sheared-to-length material, ready for efficient transportation to buyers - the growing popularity of shear/baler/loggers (SBLs) is not surprising.
LEFORT America has announced the commissioning of a LEFORT SH1100A stationary shear at Tervita's Red Deer, Alberta facility. Tervita operates four scrap metal centres in Western Canada; two in British Columbia and two in Alberta. Following on the world premiere of their first self-propelling track mounted shear/baler/logger at the ISRI 2016 Convention and Expo, LEFORT has announced the latest addition to its product line: a horizontal Multi Product 800-hp shredder. These new LEFORT shredders come with a hammer-equipped rotor, used for grating various products. According to LEFORT, the configuration of the 800-hp electrical motor, directly connected to the rotor shaft via a hydraulic coupler, and the interchangeable high-strength steel hammer system, have been extensively tested to ensure exceptional output capacity standards and vastly reduced maintenance time. The low motor-rotation speed ensures high torque to handle the toughest materials, and dust extraction units, vibrating tables and a waste sorting selection system are also tailored to customer needs. LEFORT shredders are available in different versions and power units in line with the necessary production capacity, and can be equipped with an electric or thermal motor. All machines work according to current safety standards and carry the “CE” label for the European market, as well as the “UL” label for the U.S.
