Puritan rotating drum magnets designed for continuous self-cleaning and high productivity in recycling

Rotating Drum Magnets from Michigan-based Puritan Magnetics, Inc. are designed for continuous self-cleaning of ferrous materials from product flow streams. As product enters the housing inlet, an adjustable feed gate meters the flow of product to the drum face. The drum has a stationary internal magnet with an outer drum that rotates.

Puritan Rotating Drum Magnets are designed for continuous self-cleaning of ferrous materials from product flow streams. As product enters the housing inlet, an adjustable feed gate meters the flow of product to the drum face. The drum has a stationary internal magnet with an outer drum that rotates. When product passes over the powerful magnetic field, ferrous materials are attracted to the drum surface where they are safely held on to until the ferrous material passes through the magnetic field where it is discharged to the rear of the drum housing. Cleaned filtered product is discharged to the front of the drum housing.

Head pulley magnets

These head pulley magnets are engineered to remove ferrous contaminants from belt conveyor systems. Units can be used as an idler pulley or drive pulley, and include keyed shafts. When installed as head pulleys in belt conveyor systems, these magnets automatically and continuously remove ferrous contaminants. As contaminants reach the powerful magnetic field they are attracted and held into place on the belt. As the belt is conveyed around the magnetic pulley, ferrous contaminants are held in place until they pass the magnetic field where they are safely discarded separate from the non-magnetic material. A diverter is typically installed below the pulley to direct the ferrous contaminants away from the clean product (see schematic).

POW-R-CLEAN suspended belt magnets

The POW-R CLEAN suspended belt magnet is constructed with an oversized plate magnet, and is designed for suspension above a belt conveyor and specifically engineered to remove ferrous contaminants from high volume deep burdens. Ferrous contaminants are drawn to the POW-R-CLEAN by a powerful magnetic field, and a belt travelling around the magnet discards them safely and effortlessly.
