Peterbilt has delivered a zero-emissions Model 520EV to Republic Services. This makes the Model 520EV the first electric collection vehicle in the Republic Services' California fleet as well as the first in Orange County. The automated side-loader truck will provide recycling and waste collection services for the City of Santa Ana, California.

The 520EV is designed for commercial and residential applications and provides Republic Services with a quiet and environmentally friendly vehicle that will help achieve a 35 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. It can complete a full day's collection route on a single charge and utilizes regenerative braking during each stop to transfer energy back into its battery packs.

Peterbilt's General Manager and the Vice President of PACCAR, Jason Skoog, says that Peterbilt is excited to deliver the Model 520EV to Republic Services.

"We are committed to supporting our customers as they integrate electric vehicles into their fleets and enable them to perform the same daily work while reducing emissions," continues Skoog.

Peterbilt has a dedicated team available to help identify the best EV configuration for each operation, locate available incentives, and help choose from the wide selection of PACCAR chargers and infrastructure.
