Quincy Recycling expands into secure destruction arena

Quincy Recycle, Inc., a full-service commercial recycler offering B2B waste reduction solutions to customers throughout the Midwest recently announced the acquisition of On-Site Information Destruction, out of Waterloo, Iowa.

“Recycling services aren’t designed to provide security for clients, so secure destruction is a logical business extension for us, and we have looking for the right acquisition opportunity for over a year,” states Bryan Stokes, President, Quincy Recycling.

“On-Site is clearly a great fit for Quincy, with an outstanding team of professionals, and I’m proud to be associated with them.”

From facilities in Waterloo and Des Moines, Iowa, On-Site has been providing NAID-certified secure document and hard drive destruction services to a range of regional customers since 2001.  The ratio of on-site to plant-based destruction services offered by the company stands at 90% on-site, 10% off-site.

That mix is expected to shift, according to Stokes, with more emphasis on product destruction and operational efficiencies going forward.  On-Site is currently equipped with five mobile shred trucks, a new Cresswood HF-70 single-shaft, low-RPM shredder, two box trucks, and a mobile hard drive shredding unit.  Chris Davis, a part-owner of On-Site prior to the sale, now serves as GM of the company.

“On-Site has established a solid reputation for customer service with our client base of medical, financial, and other businesses throughout the state of Iowa, and Western Illinois,” Davis explains.  “Quincy intends to let us stay who we are, while enabling On-Site’s move into more off-site destruction, secure product destruction, and other value-added services – in short, Quincy’s made this transition very easy for us and we’re ready to grow,” Davis says.

“Quincy Recycle has a great leadership team in place at On-Site, we’re focused on the future, and poised for growth in this exciting new market,” Stokes concludes.

Quincy Recycle, operating from plants in Quincy, IL, Chicago, IL, and Fort Wayne, IN, serves customers across the Midwest.  Quincy’s ‘material brokerage services’ provides direct outlets for paper, plastics, & metals in the U.S. and Canada.
