Andersen’s Sales and Salvage wins Eriez Metal Loss Monitor at 2018 RRF Silent Auction

Andersen’s Sales and Salvage wins Eriez Metal Loss Monitor at 2018 RRF Silent Auction

At this year's 2018 Recycling Research Foundation (RRF) Silent Auction, held at ISRI 2018 in April, Andersen's Sales and Salvage of Greeley, Colorado, placed the winning bid for a Metal Loss Monitor (MLM), which Eriez donated to the 2018 RRF auction.

The RRF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization closely associated with ISRI. As described on the ISRI website, the RRF's mission is to promote the art and science of scrap processing and recycling through research, sponsorships, technical assistance and educational programs for the purpose of advancing the industry.

Eriez President and CEO Tim Shuttleworth explains that the company did not hesitate to donate the MLM to the 2018 RRF Silent Auction.

"Eriez believes wholeheartedly in giving back," he said. "Our team is dedicated to making a lasting, positive impact on the communities where we operate and in the industries which we serve.  We are proud our donation helps support the RRF and the important work it does for the recycling industry." He added, "We were thrilled to learn that Andersen's, an existing Eriez customer and leader in the field, placed the generous winning bid for the MLM."

The Eriez Metal Loss Monitor continuously scans a scrap yard's residue stream for valuable metal that escaped their process and is headed for landfill disposal. Positioned either upstream or downstream of the hand picking station, the MLM sends an alert when it detects a spike in metal count, assisting operators in diagnosing and locating process breakdowns. Andersen's Sales and Salvage is a family-owned business in operation since 1959. With its first shredder installation in 1995, Andersen's began the transition to a full-service scrap yard and a self-service auto parts yard. The current shredder, commissioned in 2008, brought Andersen's into the premier auto-shredding industry, with complete ferrous and nonferrous production lines.
