Grizzly grinder evolves into “super” machine with serrated bite
Granutech-Saturn Systems has introduced a more “voracious” version of its Grizzly grinder. According to Greg Wright, director of sales, the newly designed Super 80 Grizzly achieves the highest capacity in the industry, uses a serrated knife design, and features higher horsepower, slower speed and higher torque than previous models.
The Super 80 Grizzly is ideal for processing tire chips at a higher volume while making a smaller product. Primarily used for tires, these grinders can be applied in other applications including electronic scrap, aluminum, and waste-to-energy.
The Super 80 Grizzly keeps many of the proven features that have performed for 15 years in the Grizzly line, including liner plates in the housing, two-piece screen design, an easy opening upper hopper, multi-edge reusable knives, and service platforms and handrails. These grinders also feature larger shafts and bearings, a solid one-piece forged rotor, and a higher capacity gearbox.
According to Granutech-Saturn, units produce nearly four times more torque than the standard Grizzly, while doubling production, and with the Super 80 Grizzly a single-line tire processing system can achieve eight tons per hour capacity.
