More than three decades into the tire recycling movement, the largest application for scrap tires remains the alternative fuels market. This is for good reason, as scrap tires are a tremendous resource of energy and iron. Major industries consuming tire-derived fuel (TDF) include cement producers, paper mills and energy utilities.
Vinh Ngo, the owner of Ideal Rubber Industries Corp., based in Brantford, Ontario, Canada (near Toronto), has been decisive on many fronts. He opted to work with Granutech-Saturn Systems shortly after he set up his recycling operation in 2009, and has subsequently retained Granutech-Saturn as his key vendor in establishing a tire processing system that allows him to convert scrap tires (including large format and OTR tires) into high-quality crumb rubber and powder in a multi-step phased approach.
Granutech-Saturn Systems, manufacturer of the Saturn brand of industrial and mobile shredders, has announced the launch of a revolutionary new design for the company's refiner mill for scrap rubber, featuring sealed roller bearings for greater tolerances in processing material down to 80 mesh. The G4X, is a next generation product to the company’s popular G4 mill, but features a completely unique sealed roller bearing design, that provides significant benefits over the industry’s traditional bushing design mills.
Granutech-Saturn Systems has announced in March that it has acquired the comprehensive line of industrial hammermills and ringmills, formerly marketed under the Magnatech brand.
Granutech-Saturn Systems, a world-leading manufacturer of industrial and mobile shredders and other recycling equipment announced today it has developed and launched a new hybrid-drive mechanism option for its popular line of Saturn® industrial shredders, available on both new machines and as a retrofit kit for older machines in the field.
The new MAC MAGNUM Logger from Granutech-Saturn Systems is ideal for automobile and scrap metal recycling yards. The company says these units boast a continuous-rotation crane with the longest reach of any logger/baler in the industry at 27 feet 4 inches, as well a load capacity of 5,800 pounds at full reach. For added flexibility, the operator cab features an IQAN control system.
The Saturn Dual-Shaft Industrial Shredder series from Granutech delivers 70-tons-per-day processing capacity in a variety of configurations. The Saturn dual shaft system is built for versatility, with over 20 standard models available. The series uses differential shaft speeds and features a heavy-duty internal gearbox, custom cutter configurations, and is available with options for dual-drive or single drive, as well as a choice of electric or hydraulic drives.
At ISRI 2013 and Waste Expo 2013, Granutech-Saturn Systems is formally launching the next generation of its Grizzly grinder series – the Super 80 Grizzly. Designed for an unprecedented eight-tons-per-hour capacity in single line tire processing applications, these grinders feature several design and performance enhancements, including higher horsepower, slower speed and four times higher torque than the original Model 80.
Granutech-Saturn Systems has introduced a more “voracious” version of its Grizzly grinder. According to Greg Wright, director of sales, the newly designed Super 80 Grizzly achieves the highest capacity in the industry, uses a serrated knife design, and features higher horsepower, slower speed and higher torque than previous models.
The updated MAC L3600 Logger provides operators with the ability to adjust both throttle levels and bale density from inside the cab. With the flip of a switch the operator can select any of three different bale densities. Material handling and loading are designed to be fast and easy with a four-tine grapple-equipped boom, offering 555 degrees continuous rotation.
