Northshore Manufacturing recently announced a new, versatile grapple to the company’s line-up. The Builtrite heavy-duty butt tine utility grapple is ideal for handling a wide variety of materials including everything from scrap automobiles and railroad ties, to jersey barriers, pipe and rock. Units are built using high-grade materials to provide maximum durability, exceptional performance and low maintenance.
Key features include: 360-degree continuous rotation on a heavy-duty bearing with an advanced, high torque motor and a high-pressure hydraulic swivel; a hydraulic motor that does not require a case drain line; high tensile steel used throughout; arm tips made from hardened, abrasion-resistant material; oversized, hardened cylinder and arm pivot pins with replaceable bushings; and high pressure cylinders with holding valves.
Grease zerks are easily accessible yet well protected, and these units can be outfitted with an optional sand bucket attachment that is easy to attach and detach for handling sand, gravel and other small, loose material. This grapple can be attached to both truck-mounted material handlers and excavators.
