NCR 2-Dimensional bar code reading technology is ideal for use on scrapyard automated teller machines, through which customers receive automated payment for materials. 2-D bar code reader technology eliminates the need for scrapyards to issue plastic cards to their customers on-site for payment redemption. Instead, customers receive a printed receipt that includes an encrypted bar code that can be read by a scanner-equipped ATM. This new 2-D technology is significantly more difficult to copy than one-dimensional bar codes and can hold more information.
