Terex has announced a new manufacturing facility for its materials processing range in Derry, Northern Ireland, at an investment of £12 million. The new 105,000 square foot manufacturing facility will focus on the design, manufacture and development of Terex Ecotec (waste management and recycling) and Terex Conveying Systems (TCS) (mobile conveying) product lines.
Terex Ecotec, the wood processing, biomass and recycling equipment manufacturer, is set to showcase the company's line of product offerings, innovations and expertise to a global audience at bauma 2019, taking place in Munich from 8th - 14th April 2019.
Industry professionals from around the world gathered in Newton, New Hampshire, week of October 1st, for the 2018 CBI and Ecotec Factory Forum. CBI's expanded on-site demo arena included live demos of twelve machines from the CBI and Ecotec product lines, including the all-new 6800CT Horizontal Grinder and Phoenix 1600 Trommel Screen.
With 12 million tons of tear-off roofing material being generated each year in the United States, and increased regulations, the industry demands efficient recyclers. Efficiency is second nature to A-1 Sandrock. The company has rose to the challenge over the last few years, growing their shingle disposal program into a massive operation that's convenient for roofers, communities, North Carolina, and the surrounding states.
Guests at the 2018 Northeastern Forest Products Equipment Expo had the first-ever look at CBI's newest horizontal grinder: the Magnum Force 6800CT. CBI premiered the 6800CT along with the TSC 80T Tracked Conveyor May 11-12 at the Northeastern Forest Products Equipment Expo in Vermont. CBI equipment was paired with Terex Ecotec's TWH 226 Material Handler, showing the complementary value of both Terex Corporation brands in a single operation.
Solid waste, recycling, and organics professionals will have the chance to see Continental Biomass Industries (CBI) and Terex Ecotec machines up close this month at Waste Expo 2018. CBI's 5800BT Horizontal Grinder and Ecotec's TTS 620T Trommel Screen will be displayed in booth 2949 for guests to see up close from April 24 - April 26 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Continental Biomass Industries (CBI) and Terex Ecotec drew big crowds at the US Composting Council's 2018 Conference and Equipment Show, held in Atlanta, January 22 through 25. More than 1,200 guests attended the trade show with hundreds of industry professionals stopping by the demo site to see CBI and Ecotec machines run live. CBI showcased the 5800BT and 6800BT horizontal grinders. Terex Ecotec ran the TDS 820 Slow Speed Shredder, the Phoenix 2100 Trommel Screen, and the TWT 500 Windrow Turner throughout the day.
CBI and Terex Ecotec will be demonstrating equipment live at the United States Composting Council's annual equipment show on January 25th in Ellenwood, Georgia. CBI is running the 6800BT Horizontal Grinder and 5800BT Horizontal Grinder. Ecotec is demonstrating a TDS 820 Slow Speed Shredder, a Phoenix 2100 Trommel Screen, and a TWT 500 Windrow Turner.
Without question, the shredder plays a central role in the ever-evolving business of recycling and waste management, not only for processing metals, ELVs and tires but also for size reduction of an increasingly wide range of materials. The latest models easily handle everything from plastics and fibre, e-waste and ASR (auto shredder residue) to organics and biomass, as well as C&D debris and solid waste for refuse-derived fuel (RDF) applications.
Going from $4.50 a ton to $1.00 a ton is significant when your business processes 150,000 tons of railroad ties a year, and that’s exactly what Ties 2 accomplished by upgrading to their CBI electric stationary system. Last year, Continental Biomass Industries custom designed and installed an electric stationary system that grinds 600 – 800 tons of railroad ties on a daily basis for Ties 2.
