GreenMantra Technologies and Sun Chemical to develop new polymers from polystyrene waste - for ink production

BRANTFORD, Ontario -- GreenMantra Technologies, a rapidly growing clean technology company that produces high-value polymer products from waste plastics, and Sun Chemical, the world's largest producer of printing inks, have agreed to partner to jointly develop polymers from recycled polystyrene waste for use in ink formulations.

GreenMantra Technologies receives recycled content certification from SCS Global Services

GreenMantra Technologies, a rapidly growing producer of high-value synthetic waxes from recycled plastics, recently received certification from SCS Global Services (SCS) for the recycled content of its Ceranovus wax products. Through its rigorous third-party assessment process, SCS has certified that GreenMantra's Ceranovus A and G series waxes are made with 100 percent recycled plastic, post and pre-consumer respectively. The certification provides GreenMantra's customers who manufacture and market products focused on the circular economy with transparent documentation and added support in qualifying for environmental product standard requirements and green building industry requirements such as U.S. Green Building Council's LEED certification.

GreenMantra Technologies receiving recognition for waste plastics conversion technology

GreenMantra Technologies continues to receive industry recognition for its innovative technology that converts waste plastics, including hard-to-recycle plastic films and bags, into high-value waxes.

  • The company recently learned it was selected as a finalist in the "Special Recognition Awards" category in the 2016 R&D100 Awards program. Sponsored by R&D Magazine, the R&D100 Awards have a more than 50-year history of recognizing excellence in innovation, earning them the nickname, "the Oscars of Innovation." The award winners will be announced in November.
  • GreenMantra was a shortlist finalist in the category of "Innovation with The Best Benefit for Environment and Sustainability" in the 2016 ICIS Innovation Awards, designed to recognize outstanding technological and business innovation in the chemical industry.
  • Domenic Di Mondo, technical director for GreenMantra Technologies, recently received the Young Leader Award from the Canadian Plastics Industry Association. He was recognized for his innovative work in leading the effort to commercialize GreenMantra's patented technology and resulting products, and his overall contributions to the industry.

Domenic Di Mondo receives Young Leader Award from Canadian Plastics Industry Association

Domenic Di Mondo, Technical Director for GreenMantra Technologies, which produces high-value waxes from recycled plastics, was recently honoured with the first-ever Young Leader Award from the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA). The new award is intended to "showcase inspirational and dedicated young leaders who demonstrate leadership in plastics innovation or technical leadership and/or sustainability efforts," according to CPIA. "Recipients (also) serve as a positive role model for young professionals thinking of entering the plastics industry."
