Mass production at the Spartanburg, SC facility began in 2016 with conventional machines weighing 20-plus tons. Over the past year, KOBELCO has increased production capacity by threefold as the facility is ramping up to produce 1,800 units/year. KOBELCO Construction Machinery USA was recently honoured with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ (AEM) prestigious Pillar of the Industry award. This award reflects the hard work and dedication Kobelco put forth to improve the business environment for the equipment manufacturing industry.
As part of the Kobelco Generation 10, the new SK300LC-10 excavator establishes new standards in value, productivity and durability. This robust 68,100-pound model is powered by a 252-hp Tier 4 Final HINO engine, enabling it to easily tackle heavy-duty applications while remaining fuel efficient. The SK300LC’s engine incorporates a Selective Catalytic Reduction system with Diesel Particulate Filters, which converts NOx into harmless nitrogen and water emissions; the dual system ultimately minimizes Diesel Exhaust Fluid and decreases NOx emissions by 88 percent, while providing the lowest possible operation costs.
KOBELCO has announced that the first SK1000 demolition excavator in North America was delivered to Priestly Demolition Inc. (PDI); PDI purchased the massive 245,000 lb. demo machine from Robert Green Equipment Sales Ltd. The KOBELCO SK1000 is already working on site at the General Motors assembly plant in Oshawa, Ontario.
KOBELCO Construction Machinery has announced the availability of their new SK210D Multi-Dismantling machine in North America. Contractors got a sneak peak at this machine at ConExpo 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada in March, where KOBELCO showcased it being used to dismantle an automobile. KOBELCO has manufactured more than 1000 of these machines in Japan since 1979, where they are a demolition market leader.
The Kobelco SK350DLC Scrap Handling Machine, introduced at ConExpo 2014, is engineered with practical features that help make the worksite run smoother and safer. A low centre of gravity and dedicated counterweight provides excellent dynamic stability, and its unique “bent boom” design makes dumping more efficient.
