Detroit Connect Analytics unlocks the power of fuel and safety data

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has announced  that Detroit Connect Analytics has extended its services to additional truck models and can also be added to vehicles in the aftermarket. Analytics is now available to order as a new truck option or in the aftermarket on the new Freightliner Cascadia, original Cascadia and Western Star 5700 truck models spec'd with Detroit engines. Detroit Connect Analytics automatically translates critical fuel consumption and safety data into interactive and easy-to-understand reports that provide actionable insights for increased vehicle and fleet performance.

Detroit builds on vocational market engine portfolio

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) announced the start of vehicle production on February 5, 2018 with the new Detroit DD8 engine. The engine is the latest addition to Detroit's expansive powertrain portfolio. The success of the DD8 engine further increases Detroit's overall market leadership and complements the already-in-production DD5 engine for medium-duty and vocational markets.

​Daimler Trucks North America Announces Changes in Senior Management

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has announced that David Carson, currently president of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC), has been appointed president of Western Star Trucks and chief diversity officer of DTNA. Carson succeeds Kelley Platt who has been promoted within the Daimler AG global organization to president and chief executive officer of Daimler's truck joint venture Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive Co., Ltd. (BFDA) in China.

Daimler Trucks North America Invests in OEM Partner Zonar

Daimler Trucks North America and Zonar Systems, Inc. have announced that DTNA has become a minority investor in Zonar. The long-term strategic partnership aims to help DTNA and Zonar to achieve their shared vision of optimal transportation logistics through intelligent connectivity. Zonar will continue to operate independently of DTNA, with Martin Daum, CEO of DTNA, becoming a member of its Board of Directors.

Daimler Trucks North America Readies New Loyalty Program

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) recently announced a new customer loyalty program for owner-operators and small fleets.  Known as Truck Bucks, this loyalty program will be aimed at rewarding customers with parts and service specials at Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit and Thomas Built Buses service locations. Customers enrolled in Truck Bucks will receive discounts and special product incentives. Specials will include discounts on select parts and services designed to introduce customers to the full breadth of DTNA’s aftermarket offerings. This program is designed to be customer-friendly with discounts applied at check-out without the need for coupons or further action by the customer.

Daimler Trucks North America showcases green innovations

At a press conference held May 30 in National Harbor, Maryland, Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) highlighted its most recent green achievements, including the launch of the 2014 Freightliner Cascadia Evolution powered by a new fuel-efficient DD15 Detroit engine, an announcement about the company's achievement of 10.6 miles per gallon, and a review of the recently completed  "L.A. to D.C. on CNG Cross Country Tour."
