Two in three millennials would give up social media for a week if everyone at their company recycled

Over two-thirds of Millennials are so committed to sustainability issues they would be willing to give up social media for a week if everyone at their company recycled, according to a new study conducted by Lightspeed, a globally integrated research organization, on behalf of Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP).

Rubbermaid Commercial Products launches Configure Recycling System

Rubbermaid Commercial Products has launched the first recycling system that can be tailored to meet the needs of any business or facility. The Configure recycling solution allows a facility to easily customize its system based on container size, colour, waste stream and more. New features such as magnetic connections and an easy access front door prioritize ease of use and maintenance while ensuring compliance with industry standards and legislation.

Triple capacity cart

This high-capacity cart from Rubbermaid enables multi-stream collection and sortation of waste and recyclables. By using this cart, with its colour-coded vinyl bags, up to three different streams of waste can be collected easily and quickly, on a single pass. The cart is suitable for many types of facilities including offices, commercial buildings, health care facilities, schools and anywhere that users have the ability to sort materials at the point of use.

Line of indoor recycling receptacles

In 2010 Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP) announced the newest addition to their line of indoor recycling receptacles. According to RCP, Element Indoor Recycling Stations are designed to provide stylish, centralized collection for sorting multi-stream waste and recycling, and will help those faced with the task of meeting increasing sustainability regulations while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing solution to their recycling program needs.

Two stream recycling station

The Two Stream Glutton Recycling Station is designed with Glutton and Slim Jim product features to combine strength and durability into a fully integrated unit that provides sortation and containment for one or two waste streams. “Providing the right container for each point in your recycling stream is the key to a successful program,” said Jar-ret Chirafisi, product manager for RCP. “And because both the blue Glutton and Slim Jim are made with post-consumer recycled resin (PCR) content, the benefits are immediate: they exceed EPA procurement guideline mandates and assist in obtaining LEED credits.” These two stream stations are ideal for use in education, office/property management and Federal/State/Local Government facilities.

The Glutton Recycling Station combines strength and durability into a high capacity station that can separate up to four waste streams. Any combination of four snap-in tops with various item-specific openings can be used to sort different types of recyclable waste. A symbol and word label pack is also provided. Multi-lingual word labels, along with highly visible iconic labels, provide universal cues for end-users and help minimize waste stream contamination.

Motorized tilt trucks

These motorized tilt trucks are designed as a safer and more productive solution for material handling. Units are battery-powered with a drive speed of one to three mph, and will move heavy loads without the need for a pallet jack or forklift. Up to five hours or 15 miles of operation are possible on a single charge with only an eight-hour recharge requirement, and charging is made possible via a carry-along charger from any standard 110V outlet. Units feature 500 to 1,000 pounds capacity, and an ergonomic steering handle with two paddle controls that can only be operated with two hands.

The lid frame fits over the Glutton and Slim Jim containers to create a uni-fied, cohesive station, and a centre hinge allows the lid to be opened from either side and eliminates the need to remove it during emptying, helping to reduce worker strain and trip-and-fall hazards.
