Magnetic Systems International comes through for Peterson
Magnetic Systems International (MSI) is a magnetic engineering and manufacturing specialist that produces magnetic products for clients across the globe. From their base of operations, a 22,000 square foot facility in Michigan, the company serves clients in industries including large OEMs, recycling, feed and grain, sand and gravel, and more. The company’s product range includes magnets for separation and material handling, suspended magnets, and metal detectors, as well as a range of other products. “It might sound trite, but we really can handle it all,” says Steve Finch, GM. “Our people love a challenge.”
Peterson, a major player in the manufacture of equipment for grinding wood and other organic waste, recently contacted MSI when their original pulley supplier ran into trouble. “Our first supplier, a larger magnetic company, couldn’t consistently deliver product on time and shipments often arrived damaged due to inadequate packaging,” explains Jody Volner, Peterson Supply Manager. “MSI stepped in, and with little ramp up time, met all our needs. Because of their lower overhead and lean manufacturing methods, they were able to give us a better price too. Now every order is delivered safely, on time and often early. Our production significantly increased as a result of last year’s hurricanes. MSI has kept pace with us every step of the way.” So what does Finch see for the future of MSI? “We don’t want to be the biggest supplier,” he states. “We just want to be the best for our customers. We approach every project with enthusiasm and a commitment to reaching the best solution.”
