The DZT 8000 combines Diamond Z’s user-friendly design and engineering philosophies with innovative features that improve on-site mobility, increased throughput and enhanced overall appearance. The new grinder’s short, compact and durable design maximizes on-site mobility and stability. Its heavy-built one-piece frame design and aggressive 60-inch hammermill allow for increased production capacities of up to 100 tons per hour for stumps and logs, up to 95 tons per hour for brush and yard waste, and up to 100 tons per hour for pallets and construction waste. “The concept for this design came from our need to create a tub grinder that fell between our 60,000-pound 1460 model and our 99,000-pound 1463 model,” said Patrick Crawford, vice president of products. “The 75,000-pound DZT 8000 fits perfectly within our product line.” The DZT 8000 incorporates Diamond Z’s signature attention to safety and ease of use and maintenance. Its aggressive hammermill and improved deflector and containment shields greatlyminimize any possibility for throwing debris. Plus, an extended work platform surrounding the engine area provides greater accessibility for maintenance. “Ensuring that our products have longevity is a priority for us,” said Crawford. “When designing the DZT 8000, we focused on putting the majority of the weight into the integral working components such as the hammermill and the engine rather than the external components.” The DZT 8000 is available as a standard operating tub grinder and will soon be available as a track-mounted machine.
