Manufactured at our facility in southwestern Idaho, our innovative grinders and metal recycling equipment are shipped throughout the world. Under the Rule Steel umbrella, Diamond Z continues to grow and innovate as a leader in the green waste industry. In 1999, Diamond Z was honored with the Governor's Award for Export Marketing for outstanding accomplishments in the export of goods and services around the globe.
Diamond Z offers a broad range of industrial tub grinders, horizontal grinders, track grinders, & metal recycling equipment designed to suit any application. From high-volume composting needs, to disaster cleanup, to stockpile tire disposal, to solid waste reduction, no grinder outperforms the Diamond Z.
Diamond Z has experienced steady growth since its founding in 1989 and after joining forces in 2010 with structural steel and metal fabricating leader Rule Steel, we are recognized as the world's top manufacturer of industrial tub and horizontal grinders. These impressive machines are used in the recycling business to process stumps, logs, yard waste, tires, solid waste and C&D debris into sizes as small as one inch at unparalleled production rates.
In 1996, Diamond Z introduced the world's first and only totally enclosed tub grinder to maximize safety in sensitive environments. The enclosed grinder processes wood stumps, green waste, tires, and C&D at unparalleled production rates and is the best choice for operators in highly populated locations.
Diamond Z also designed the SWG 1600, the world's first and only on-site mobile solid waste grinder. The SWG 1600 is targeted exclusively to process municipal solid waste and C&D disposal at remarkable production rates of up to 300 tons per hour. Studies have concluded that this grinder benefits landfills and transfer stations by increasing net operating income, substantially increasing effective MSW & C&D compaction density, and providing small uniform material size for handling. The SWG 1600 is essential for any landfill that needs space.
The commitment to timely disposal of waste is what makes Diamond Z a trusted grinding expert domestically and abroad.

Latest model Diamond Z DZCC800 Series Car Crusher designed with the same quality as proven wood waste grinders
The latest DZCC800 Series Car Crusher is designed with the same quality, durability, productivity and serviceability that Diamond Z is known for, with wood waste grinders, according to the Idaho-based manufacturer.
Multiple major manufacturers of horizontal grinders have released new models in 2018. HOGS, as they are sometimes called (HOrizontal GrinderS), are unquestionably the workhorse of the wood recycling industry and are a key piece of equipment for composters, land clearing contractors and biomass-for-energy producers, as well as C&D and MSW processors, where in both cases, wood and other organics are part of a mixed stream of materials. The latest model horizontal grinders feature lighter weights with higher production, increased transportability and site mobility, diesel, hybrid and fully electric power options, along with sophisticated controls systems, and ease of use and maintenance for operators and owners. This article looks at the latest horizontal grinder models and updates from Morbark, CW Mill, Rotochopper, CBI, Diamond Z, Bandit, Vermeer, Precision Husky, and Peterson Pacific.
Diamond Z’s latest model is the DZH 7000E electric-powered horizontal wood grinder. These units are an alternative to diesel-powered machines and will increase the production output of wood material, with production rates up to 700 cubic yards per hour for green waste.
DZCC800 Series Car Crushers are designed for quality, durability, productivity and serviceability. Hardened steel wear areas maximize the strength and stability of the crushing chamber, and units are equipped with an automated crush and rock cycle that maximizes productivity and offers very high levels of compaction. A stationary, electric model is also available.
The DZH6000 model horizontal grinder features quick screen changes of 20 minutes or less, horsepower options up to 1,050, low-maintenance, and production capabilities up to 749 cubic yards per hour. Units are powered by a Caterpillar C27 ACERT EPA Tier II rated engine, and feature a four-ton hammermill and a screen area of 4,320 total square inches.
The DZH6000 model horizontal grinder features quick screen changes of 20 minutes or less, up to 1,050 horsepower options, low-maintenance and production capabilities of up to 749 cubic yards per hour. Units are powered by a Caterpillar C27 ACERT EPA tier II rated engine, and the drive system uses a fluid coupling – an extremely efficient hydraulic unit which replaces the entire clutch assembly, reducing shock loads that can tear apart some machines. The DZH6000 also features a four-ton hammermill and a screen area of 4,320 total square inches.
Diamond Z Manufacturing recently announced a new line of industrial equipment, consisting of mobile and stationary car crushers, and baler loggers in either one or two ram cylinder configurations. The model DZBL650-LS700 (shown here) is a single ram cylinder baler/logger/ loader/shear with a total cycle time of less than two minutes. These units feature a baling chamber that is 108 inches by 20 feet open, and 24 inches by 32 inches closed, for maximum productivity. The DZBL650-LS700 comes with bolt-in replaceable 3/4-inch T-1 liners to extend the life of the crush chamber, has a state of the art multi-layer touch screen control system with operational diagnostic, value and fault code screens, and features a heated, air conditioned cab with joystick controls and a deluxe seat for operator comfort. Units also come with automated control cycles for the baler, logger and the shear, as well as a password-protected diagnostic screen with auto system analysis. The shear is a 700 ton unit with an opening of 25 by 33 inches, and will make approximately six cuts per minute, giving the operator the ability to log material and shear logs to any desired length. These new baler logger loader shears are available in a single ram or dual ram design, and in stationary or portable, diesel or electric configurations. Options include self-loaders, machine-mounted shears up to 700 tons, an air compressor for maintenance and convenience, a pre-load table for efficiency, and an auxiliary fuel tank with pump to assist with support equipment.
