Paper recycling centre

Portable, with clear bags

ClearStream PaperMax is a clear recycling container for collecting recyclable paper products and newspaper at special events and permanent venues.

According to the Paper Industry Association Council, every ton of paper that is recycled saves 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space. Special events such as conventions, festivals, fairs, college tailgate events, and concerts generate an extraordinary amount of paper material in the form of program booklets, handouts, and packaging from event vendors that often is discarded and brought to a landfill instead of being recycled. In the past, waste-haulers spent an extraordinary amount of time separating recyclables from trash, and were unable to generate profit from smaller events. The use of a clear recycling container, however, not only encourages recycling at events and helps protect the environment, it also helps waste-haulers operate more efficiently.

PaperMax, like the other products in the ClearStream family, streamlines event recycling with the use of a clear bag and locking lid. Seeing the contents of the recycling centre prevents confusion and consequential cross-contamination of recyclables and trash. In addition, the clear bag allows visitors to see the result of their participation in the event’s recycling efforts, and sets a good example for visitors who don’t normally recycle.

An added benefit of the PaperMax clear bag is its durability, which allows it to be reused a number of times. The clear bag even helps prevent collection crews from mistaking recyclable paper for trash and depositing it into the wrong receptacles. “Recycling paper products generated from events can allow waste-haulers and event organizers to be seen as environmental leaders,” said Resourceful Bag & Tag President Jim Alderden. “Organizations that recognize the importance of public recycling foster a good image with event attendees and the host communities.” In addition to helping preserve the environment, recycling with PaperMax at events helps waste-haulers win bids that their competitors cannot. Waste removal companies now are able to offer special event coordinators a more competitive price than recycling services dependent on the use of wheeled carts and other recycling containers.

The ClearStream TrashMax, used for collecting trash, and ClearStream Recycler, for recyclable bottles and cans, already have experienced success in more than 1,500 cities nationwide as effective source-separation recycling centres. Because each ton of paper recycled saves 17 trees (according to the Environmental Protection Agency), waste-haulers have an opportunity to play an instrumental role in reducing the strain on our landfills.
