VIDEO: PMR marks three decades of growth and resilience in the recycling industry
Evolving alongside a changing recycling industry has helped PMR expand as a catalytic converter processor
PMR is celebrating its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of growth, resilience, innovation, and continued commitment to the catalytic converter recycling industry.
PMR started with just a vision in a specialized market and has grown into an organization with 80 team members who share a commitment to doing things differently. Over the past 30 years, PMR has continued to develop alongside the industry while staying grounded in the values that shape its foundation: trust, accountability, and transparency.
"As we proudly celebrate 30 years, we reflect on a journey that began with just a handful of dreamers and a clear vision of what our niche market needed. Through resilience, passion, and an unwavering belief in what we could build together, that small spark has grown into a thriving family of over 80 talented individuals. Each person who joined us brought new energy, ideas, and strength — helping shape PMR into what it is today: a company built by people who truly ‘bleed blue' — a nod to the colour that represents our values, our pride, and our commitment to excellence," shared Christian Thibault, president and CEO, PMR.
"This milestone is more than an anniversary; it's a tribute to every step taken, every challenge overcome, and every person who helped transform a bold dream into a remarkable reality. Here's to our past, our people, and the next chapter of success we'll continue to write together," he added.

PMR is focused on learning from its 30 years in the industry while also looking ahead. A major part of that future is the continued investment in North America, including the expansion of its Gastonia, North Carolina, facility. This expansion reflects PMR's long-term commitment to strengthening its operational capabilities, increasing efficiency, and supporting suppliers with reliable service.
By investing in infrastructure, technology, and people, PMR is reinforcing its ability to serve suppliers across North America while continuing to adapt to the evolving needs of the industry.
Over the last three decades, the recycling and precious metals industries have changed significantly. Market conditions have shifted, technology has advanced, and supplier expectations have continued to evolve. Through it all, PMR has remained focused on building strong relationships, refining its process, and delivering transparent, data-driven results.
PMR leadership says that its success depends on its people. From operations and laboratory analysis to supplier services, sales, administration, and leadership, every department has played a role in building the company.
