Two companies focused on advancing sorting systems have partnered to distribute a recycling solution focused on safety and circularity — Sesotec GmbH will distribute X.Sort developed by WeSort.AI GmbH, an AI-focused technology company.

X.Sort is an AI-based technology that identifies lithium-ion batteries early in the material flow, playing a crucial role in fire prevention at recycling facilities. Through Sesotec's international sales and service network, X.Sort is now available globally.

The global availability of X.Sort through Sesotec marks a significant step towards enhanced fire protection, increased process stability, and data-driven optimization in recycling facilities — leading to a more resilient and sustainable materials economy.

"Engineering meets AI: With WeSort.AI, we combine our expertise to detect lithium batteries early, prevent fires, and make recycling processes smarter. Together, we create solutions that set global benchmarks — technologically, economically, and sustainably," says Jens Astfalk, Sesotec head of sales and key account management, Sorting Recycling.

Using AI identification technology to make recycling safer

Beyond battery detection, Sesotec and WeSort.AI are advancing AI-driven waste sorting into new applications — such as E-Waste. Utilizing deep learning algorithms, complex material streams can be precisely analyzed and selectively separated.

The synergy of proven Sesotec engineering expertise, robust sensor and plant technology, modern AI algorithms from WeSort.AI, and a global service and support network empowers customers worldwide with reliable system performance, optimized recycling processes, and future-ready sorting solutions.

Both companies remain legally independent while combining their core competencies in a powerful technological partnership. The shared goal: to actively shape the circular economy with intelligent, secure, and sustainable recycling solutions.
