Komar Industries, a designer and manufacturer of waste and recycling processing solutions, has acquired Metro Compactor Service, Inc., BaleForce Recycling Equipment Inc., and Chute Source LLC. This acquisition brings together two market leaders to create a unified North American platform. The combined organization aligns Komar's strength in equipment manufacturing and service in the United States with Metro's long-standing role as a service leader and established OEM in Canada.

Together, the two dedicated companies will operate the largest network of in-house service technicians in North America and expect to perform more than 90,000 service calls annually. The combination expands the platform's ability to better serve customers by delivering a broad equipment portfolio, responsive service, and technology-enabled solutions that support the full lifecycle of waste and recycling operations.

Voices from leadership

"Integrating Metro into the Komar platform will create powerful synergies leading to an enhanced product and service offering combined with an improved experience for our customers, particularly within the Canadian market and North American multi-tenant residential sectors," said Mark Koenig, president and chief executive officer of Komar. "Pairing our world class equipment with Metro's advancements in IoT further solidifies Komar's comprehensive suite of products and service infrastructure."

"Metro has built its business around reliability, service excellence, and supporting customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their equipment. These values are shared by both organizations," added Andrew Strudwicke, Metro president. "By combining our equipment, service, rental, and iSMART monitoring platform with Komar's broad equipment portfolio, supply chain strength, and operational scale, we can deliver more comprehensive solutions that improve uptime, extend asset life, and reduce total cost of ownership for our customers."

"Metro adds an extremely skilled team with knowledge in using the highest level of asset management technologies, software, and integrated service to the Komar platform," said Danny Mauti, Metro majority owner. "This transaction allows us to combine our shared vision of becoming North America's best-in-class waste and recycling solutions provider while delivering unrivalled equipment, service, and IoT support to our customers."
