CARI strengthens federal advocacy for Canada’s recycling industry
The expanded advocacy strategy advances national recycling policy priorities and increases visibility with federal decision-makers

The Canadian Association of Recycling Industries (CARI) has formed a new federal advocacy partnership with PAA Advisory | Conseils to strengthen government relations and policy engagement for Canada's recycled materials sector.
As part of the collaboration, members will gain access to new engagement opportunities, government relations education, and clearer, more timely communication on federal policy developments. The partnership will also support CARI's first Parliament Hill Day in 2026, open to all members.
"CARI has always believed that strong, coordinated advocacy is essential to the long-term success of our industry," says Jonathan Ross, vice president of John Ross & Sons, and CARI's advocacy and policy committee chair and secretary-treasurer of the Board of Directors. "Our partnership with PAA allows us to bring even more expertise, structure, and momentum to our federal strategy while remaining responsive to the provincial and local issues our members face every day."
Working together, CARI and PAA will focus on strengthening national advocacy and expanding the recycling industry's presence in 2026. The partnership will elevate industry priorities, improve visibility with federal decision-makers, and ensure recycling and recycled materials issues are clearly understood and represented across all levels of government.
"This partnership underscores CARI's ongoing commitment to providing strong value for members and ensuring Canada's recycling industry is represented at the highest levels of government," says Jacqueline Lotzkar, president and CEO of CARI.
CARI will continue to lead on national and federal issues that matter to its members, while building out its advocacy strategy and advancing federal government relations that protect the interests of recyclers across Canada.
"Together, we are strengthening the voice of Canada's recycled materials sector and building meaningful relationships that support the growth and stability of our industry," says Brian Shine, CEO of Manitoba Corporation and chair of CARI's Board of Directors.
