Lindner adds mobility to two-shaft shredders for heavy-duty recycling applications
The Urraco Evo series can be used to shred everything from wood and plastics to scrap metal and aluminum

Urraco Evo is Lindner's new series of mobile two-shaft shredders. This future-oriented series features more power, speedier fast-exchange function, and shaft versatility. Whether used for pre-shredding or reducing volume, this machine can handle materials ranging from wood and plastics to domestic and commercial waste, as well as heavy-duty applications such as scrap metal, mixed scrap, and aluminum.
The circular economy has been at the forefront of Lindner's business model for more than 75 years. The fourth-generation owned family business develops and produces technologies and engineered solutions for the global market to transform waste into reusable materials.
"We have responded to the changing market requirements — away from a primary segment of light materials and towards more robust and difficult applications. The new product line meets customer requirements in every respect, combining our proven robust construction with new functions and features — in one Urraco series", explains Gerhard Gamper, segment director mobile shredding.
Modular design for precise work
The new Urraco Evo series combines a modular design, stable construction, quality, and precision manufacturing. Lindner has focused more on automation and robotics while ensuring efficient processes and maintaining high-quality of the core components. "When designing the Evo series, we asked ourselves two questions: Which features have proven most valuable over the decades? And which features could we use to better support our customers?" says Andreas Klapf, head of engineering at Lindner. "We have also further automated the manufacture of our cutting unit and shafts. Through the targeted use of this technology, we are able to increase our competitive edge in terms of robustness, stability, and reliability — and even successfully use the Urraco Evo for applications such as mixed scrap metal and aluminium."
The hydrostatic drive system and extensive shaft configurations provide the Urraco Evo series with maximum flexibility regarding the input materials. These range from waste wood, residential, commercial, and industrial waste to plastics, metal, and aluminium waste.
"Whether the task is pre-shredding or reducing volume, the models in the Urraco Evo series can be used universally. Our performance tests with customers have confirmed the material diversity these models can handle and has shown that even difficult materials such as mixed waste can be shredded without any issue. The feedback from our customers is very positive," says Thomas Huber, Product Manager.
Lindner Mobile Days
As part of Lindner's Mobile Days at the start of September, the Urraco Evo series was presented to international partners, who were enthusiastic about the new product line.
"For me, the biggest advantage is the ease of maintenance, especially when it comes to replacing the shafts. This is important for our customers. With this type of machine, we are making a significant contribution to reducing landfill and converting it into recyclable material." Masashi Inane, Ryohshin (Lindner's sales partner in Japan).
"When it comes to repair and maintenance, the new Urraco Evo saves time and money! The main focus of my North-American customers is scrap metal recycling — an application that involves high wear and tear on the machine. For these customers in particular, the innovative fast-exchange system together with the Skyflap offers huge advantages." Jake Dennis, Lindner USA.
