The National Waste and Recycling Association (NWRA) Women's Council is accepting applications for the 2023 to 2024 scholarship program. The program is aimed at supporting employees of NWRA member companies and their dependents pursuing careers in the waste and recycling industry. The Women's Council has awarded over $410,000 in scholarships to date.

"The waste and recycling sector plays a crucial role in shaping a sustainable future for our planet," said Tammy Holtzman, the district manager with Waste Connections and chair of the National Waste and Recycling Association Women's Council scholarship committee. "It is essential to empower and encourage students to actively participate in this dynamic field. The scholarship not only provides financial assistance but also fosters a community and makes meaningful contributions to industry stewardship."

The NWRA Women's Council wants eligible candidates to apply for the 2023 to 2024 scholarship program. Applications will be accepted until April 1, 2024, and the recipients will be announced before WasteExpo 2024. The scholarship awards will contribute to tuition, books, and other educational expenses.
