Featuring safety, stability and increased productivity as hallmarks of its design, Philippi-Hagenbuch's patented line of Rear Eject Bodies offer the ideal solution for challenging hauling applications from general/road construction, waste and recycling, sand/gravel to mine reclamation and underground hauling situations where overhead barriers inhibit traditional dump bodies. 

Easily adaptable to any make and model of articulated off-highway truck as well as a number of rigid frame trucks, PHIL Rear Eject Bodies curtail the challenges associated with traditional dump bodies. In eliminating the need to raise the body of the truck, the PHIL Rear Eject series allows for safely dumping materials while in motion and in the presence of overhead barriers. This versatility in operation increases efficiency without reducing stability by providing a lower center of gravity and allowing dumping on downhill slopes and conditions with a soft footing. Enabling trucks to spread material while driving further enhances efficiency. The ability to effectively empty the truck without raising the body augments safety where overhead barriers such as power lines, roof lines or bridges may pose as forgotten safety risks as well as in underground mining applications that have low overhead clearance.

A single hydraulic cylinder operates both the ejector blade and the rear tailgate mechanism.

Without moving or raising the truck bed, the ejector blade pushes material toward the rear of the truck, while the tailgate lowers down and material is completely ejected. The unique sweeping action of the blade virtually eliminates all material - even that material prone to sticking to the sides or floor of the truck bed. This effective dumping action provides for more dumps in less time significantly increasing jobsite productivity.

PHIL Rear Eject Bodies are also versatile enough to be used as auxiliary feeders within quarries and mines, providing an alternative tool for delivering material to a crusher or asphalt plant if a primary feeder malfunctions or breaks down.  

Continuing the company's long-held vision of designing solutions that improve productivity while minimizing maintenance, PHIL Rear Eject Bodies are constructed with a single hydraulic cylinder used to operate both the ejector blade and the rear tailgate mechanism. As the ejector blade moves to the rear of the body, the tailgate mechanism located in the sides of the body begins to move to the rear of the truck. This motion, naturally supplemented with gravitational forces, lowers the tailgate simply and mechanically without the need for additional hydraulic cylinders. To further simplify the design, PHIL ejector bodies employ exclusive ejector guides integrated into the inside of the body, which provide smooth operation, while eliminating rollers that typically break or bind. Additionally, the bodies are constructed of high strength, abrasion-resistant steel to withstand years of use with little maintenance. 

Because there are no external rails or guides for the ejector to move on, the Rear Eject Bodies provide enhanced ease of loading and increased capacity. Incorporating customer feedback and more than two decades of experience, Philippi-Hagenbuch eliminated all grease points with the exception of one - only requiring lubrication once a year.

Autocar's new DC-64R achieves breakthrough in body integration

According to Autocar, the newly introduced DC-64R severe-duty conventional truck has achieved a new breakthrough in chassis-body integration. Autocar has announced that it is mounting roll-off hoist bodies directly on the Autocar DC truck production line. Amrep partners with leading electric vehicle company BYD to deliver first electric refuse truck in residential service

Amrep, a Wastequip brand, recently partnered with leading commercial electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD (Build Your Dreams) to develop and deliver the waste industry's first-ever commercially-sold all-electric refuse truck in residential refuse operation, according to the company. The Class 8R automated side-loader (ASL) all electric truck will be used by Waste Resources, Inc., a subsidiary of Waste Resource Technologies, Inc. ("WRT") to serve the City of Carson, California.

Waste Management subsidiary to acquire Advanced Disposal Services

Waste Management, Inc. and Advanced Disposal Services, Inc. announced April 15th that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which a subsidiary of Waste Management will acquire all outstanding shares of Advanced Disposal for $33.15 per share in cash, representing a total enterprise value of $4.9 billion when including approximately $1.9 billion of Advanced Disposal's net debt. 

Mack adds third Certified Uptime Dealer location in Quebec

Mack Trucks has named Montreal-based Mack Laval its third Mack Certified Uptime Dealer in the province of Quebec, and third French-language location. The accreditation confirms the dealer has met stringent requirements to amplify customer service and uptime. Mack made the announcement April 11 during ExpoCam at Place Bonaventure, Montreal.

Philippi-Hagenbuch Inc., (PHIL) a specialist in off-highway truck customization, has invented a new version of their Autogate Tailgate specifically for off-highway trucks and roll-off containers that require a 100 percent positive seal. This new design can be paired with PHIL's proprietary fluidic seal material to create a water-tight seal that contains liquid materials within an off-highway truck body or roll-off container when environmental regulations or local laws make even slight spillage undesirable.

Compology’s in-dumpster cameras and Contamination Score provide path to sustainable, efficient waste collection

Compology, based in San Francisco, got its start in the fall of 2013, with its first camera-based container monitoring system deployed in 2014 at the University of California in Santa Cruz. The system is designed to monitor container fullness and automate the process of container pickups between waste generators and haulers. Today, about a fifth of Compology's business is in Canada, with the remainder in the U.S.

The five elements of fleet rental in waste and recycling
