Toter awarded U.S. National Cooperative contract for refuse and recycling carts

Toter, a division of Wastequip, was recently awarded a national cooperative contract by the City of Tucson, Arizona.  The contract is offered nationwide in the U.S. through the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance (National IPA).

The National IPA is a national cooperative purchasing organization that works with public agencies – including governments, educational institutions and non-profit agencies – to competitively solicit national contracts for aggregated use. Participating agencies can enter into cooperative purchasing agreements with National IPA vendors, streamlining the contracting process by eliminating the need to bid the contract.  There is no cost for agencies to participate and utilize the contracts available through National IPA.

Through the contract, Toter offers National IPA participants the ability to purchase refuse and recycling carts.  The contract also provides participants with options to ensure that their individual agency requirements and needs are met.  The contract award is for three years with the option to extend to five years. Toter held the previous cooperative contract by the City of Tucson for a five-year term that began in December 2007.

“The City of Tucson’s competitively solicited and awarded contract with Toter provides outstanding quality and exceptional value for public agencies nationwide” said Ken Heckman, vice president of National IPA. “We are pleased to continue our successful partnership with Toter.”

Toter is a leading provider of waste and recycling carts to waste haulers and municipalities in North America. Additional products include specialty carts for document management, electronic waste, organics, medical waste and more.  Manufactured using Advanced Rotational Molding, Toter carts offer greater service life than injection molded carts.

Toter is also the only commercial grade cart available to consumers at retailers in the U.S.  Toter is a division of Wastequip.  On the web at www.toter.com.

National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance Company (National IPA) is a cooperative purchasing organization established through a collaborative effort of public agencies across the United States with the specific purpose of reducing procurement costs by leveraging group volume.  All master agreements offered through National IPA are publicly solicited, awarded through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process, and held by a public agency.  National IPA serves as the nationwide channel to offer the awarded agreements to public and non-profit agencies.  This cooperative purchasing strategy offers lower costs, plus time and resource savings, to participating agencies. National IPA is an optional program with no minimum purchase requirements and no fee to participate. www.nationalipa.org.
