Gensco introduces HG material handling grapple to North American market

Gensco Equipment has introduced the new HG material handling grapple to the North American market.  

According to the Toronto-based manufacturer and distributor, the HG Series has been designed to handle long structural scrap or demo debris, loose bundles and oddly shaped material. With its rugged construction, huge opening and ability to completely close its jaws, the HG series is the ideal attachment to load and unload with precision, feed guillotine shears and balers or just moving material.

"This versatile and heavily built grapple is perfectly set up for my small material handler," says Hunter Triesch - Bracken Recycling. "I can use it to feed my steel logger/baler all types of scrap, all day long. The same machine can handle and load two bales simultaneously, speeding up my shipping process."

The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) has joined with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other stakeholders, in the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to extend the National Vehicle Mercury Switch Recovery Program (NVMSRP) to 2021. The highly-effective program was designed to recover mercury switches in older model vehicles during the recycling process before the mercury can leak into the atmosphere. Strong domestic RPET demand continues according to Report on Postconsumer PET recycling

The National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR) and The Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) have announced the release of the Report on Postconsumer PET Container Recycling Activity in 2017. The report cites a 2017 United States recycling rate of 29.2 percent for polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic bottles, reflecting a slight increase over the 2016 rate of 28.4%. The rate increase reflected decreases in both total collection volumes and volume of PET bottles available for recycling in the U.S.
