ALLU introduces TS Drum Assembly

Versatile material processing units available with standard blades for screening and axe blades for crushing or shredding

ALLU has introduced the new, patented ALLU TS® drum assembly construction, which allows customers in construction and recycling applications to achieve flexibility in performing multiple jobs with one unit, just by repositioning standard screening blades. Manufactured for the ALLU D-Series material processor attachment for excavators, loaders and other carriers - Allu screener crusher bucket frames - the core of the ALLU TS technology is the configuration of the screening blades that spin between the screening combs. The end product size is defined by the space between the combs, and different fragment sizes can be achieved simply by repositioning the combs. Because the screening combs carry most of the material weight, the drums and bearings experience less impact and load. The design of the assembly ensures the machine works well in wet and dry materials without clogging.

The TS drums are available with two different blade types: standard blades for screening applications and axe blades when a crushing or shredding effect is required. Blade sizes available include 0.63/1.26 in (16/32 mm), 0.98/1.97 in (25/50 mm) and 1.38 in (35 mm). The TS assembly is available in seven different models for 17.6- to 49.6-ton (16- to 45-metric ton) excavators and 7.7- to 33-ton (7- to 30-metric ton) wheel loaders.

TS Drum Assembly Features at a Glance:
• Screening blades spin between screening combs
• End product size is defined by the space between the combs
• Standard blades work as screeners
• Repositioning blades allows them to work as axe blades for shredding
• Machine works well in wet and dry materials, without clogging
• Models are available for 16- to 45-ton excavators and 7- to 30-ton wheel loaders
• Blade sizes available include 16/32 mm (.63/1.26 in), 25/50 mm (.98/1.97 in) and 35 mm (1.38 in)

TOMRA debuts new SHARP EYE technology at NPE 2018

TOMRA's new Autosort LOD (laser object detection) is now available with SHARP EYE technology.

At NPE 2018, the Plastics Show, held in Orlando, May 7-8, TOMRA Sorting Recycling introduced new TOMRA SHARP EYE technology, which makes it possible to separate single-layer PET trays from PET bottles. This enhances the previous capability of TOMRA's AUTOSORT machine to separate multilayer trays. This breakthrough is commercially significant because small but critical differences in the chemical properties of PET food trays and PET bottles mean that they must be separated for equivalent-product recycling. Additionally, artificial intelligence embedded in TOMRA systems also enables seamless analysis of sorted products, making the future plants even smarter.

Single-ram horizontal balers are the most common type of baler employed in MRFs and other large-scale recycling facilities for compressing and readying recovered paper, plastics and other recyclables for transport downstream to end markets. Also referred to as a channel baler, these machines use a single-ram or cylinder to compress, move and eject material in a continuous cycle). They are ideal for high-production recycling facilities processing paper and cardboard, plastic bottles and UBCs, and are very adaptable to handle a range of other materials, including everything from textiles to metals.
