Crambo Direct dual-shaft shredder for wood and green waste.

Komptech has announced that its Crambo direct dual shaft shredder is now available as stationary machine. The Crambo direct shreds all types of wood and green waste to a set particle size and uses a drive train that combines the functionality of a hydraulic drive with the efficiency of a mechanical drive.

The stationary Crambo direct uses slow-running screws with shredding tools minimize fine particle and noise/dust emissions, and build up resistance to contamination. The particle size is adjustable by simply exchanging screen baskets and a new engine compartment with large doors offers easy access to all drive components. The new stationary Crambo direct also features a mechanical drive with automatic load-dependent gear shifting. This results in high efficiency while retaining all functional benefits like overloading protection, reversibility and two shredding speeds.

Crambo machines are capable of shredding of wood and green waste of all types. Using a generously-dimensioned shredding area, two counter rotating shafts measuring 2,820 mm in length are equipped with cutting tools to provide active feed – meaning everything is shredded to a set particle size.

The Crambo also enables easy adjustment of its degree of shredding. This is achieved by simply exchanging the screen basket (hole size 80-300 mm), which instantly offers a system with the required shredding action. According to Komptech, this is a key benefit since it allows the ideal particle size and type for subsequent processing to be generated.

Komptech adds that the innovative Crambo shredding concept provides a wide range of possibilities. Established applications include the shredding of bio-waste for composting, the shredding of market waste and food/kitchen waste for a anaerobic digestion and the pre-shredding of roof shingles.
