Wide-box, closed-door, full-eject baler

Maren Engineering’s new ProPak60 baler features a 55-inch by 40-inch feed opening and Smart Bale technology that allows operators to select bale sizes for loading truck or sea containers. These units make 1,500-pound bales (as opposed to 1,100-pound bales) which allows loading of trucks with a single row of bales down the middle.

The ProPak60 makes dense, PET bales of 1,000 pounds at a 45-inch dimension, which Maren says will weight-out a sea container on plastic. It can also fully weight-out a truck on aluminum cans which allows for direct shipping to mills, bypassing a “broker” who re-bales to meet mill density requirements. This allows an aluminum can recycler to earn 10 to 15 cents more per pound.

According to Maren’s Aaron Krueger, the ProPak60 is also the only machine in its class that has touch screen controls, tracks production and allows for adjusting the bale width from 40 inches to 48 inches, enabling loading of either 92-inch wide sea containers or 100-inch wide trucks, with two bales side by side.

These machines are entirely greased from the outside and have no moving limit switches to wear out. Additional features include: 102 psi platen force; 450 Brinell wear liners; smart shear technology; an easy tie system; gravity actuated retaining dogs; automatic bale decompression; a streamlined hydraulic system; interlocking chassis construction; oversized cylinder mounts; and a non-ferrous door with a design similar to much larger units.
