VAZ 1600 NewGen rotary grinder

The VAZ 1600, one of Vecoplan’s New Generation shredders, is ideal for plastics, wood and virtually any other feedstock. These low-speed, high-torque, single-shaft rotary grinders use a cardan shaft drive that eliminates drive belts, lowers maintenance costs and decreases overall machine and machine base widths.

Double sidewalls reduce wear, eliminate contamination and heat transfer to bearings, increase durability and also lower maintenance requirements. Plus, Vecoplan says the unit’s reversible counter knives deliver long life while cutting replacement costs. 

“Innovations on the NewGen shredders improve performance, increase durability and decrease maintenance time,” said Kim James, Vecoplan.  

The VAZ 1600’s hydraulic swing-up screen carriages provide quick, easy access to the rotor for cutter replacements, tramp metal removal and other routine maintenance, and rotatable screens can be turned 180 degrees for increased wear life. Externally adjustable counter knives also allow users to maintain optimal cutting tolerances quickly and easily, especially beneficial when shredding thin materials.
