The Cribus 3800 drum screener has the largest drum of any comparable mobile trommel on the market, according to Komptech. The company also says that in drum screening, size is a major factor and that their larger drum provides more screening area and therefore higher throughput. In addition, a large hopper makes for faster loading, and wider conveyors reduce stoppages with bulky materials. All this makes screening faster and more efficient.
The new Komptech Cribus is scaled specifically for these size benefits. The 7-foot 3-inch drum has 15 percent more screen area and length than its competitors for faster screening, while the large hopper avoids “bridging” of material, and is easier for larger bucket loaders to load. Oversized conveyors and generous 5.5-inch spacing on the Cribus, between the drum and sidewalls, facilitates smooth screening of larger sizes, and extra-large tires give better mobility and stability on soft ground. Despite all this scale, the Cribus has road-mobile exterior dimensions. These units also feature low fuel use per ton and simplified maintenance.
