Innovative tracking solution upgraded

Revised FleetMap just part of Montreal-based FleetMind's latest innovations

Innovative tracking solution upgraded

FleetMind Solutions, Inc., recently announced key enhancements to its FleetMap fleet tracking solution for Waste and Recycling firms. FleetMap’s recent upgrades significantly increase the level of information granularity and capabilities for detailed route and activity monitoring.

“To run an effective waste disposal [or recycling] fleet, you need to know what’s going on for every route, vehicle and container in real-time,” said Martin Demers, CEO of FleetMind. “Our newest version of FleetMap provides the level of detail and back office capabilities required to give you complete visibility into your entire fleet – every stop of the way. FleetMapping is all about dramatically improving operational efficiencies, productivity, safety and customer service.”

FleetMind’s newest FleetMap capabilities lets users:

• Track route information both on a map and in text format to monitor containers that have been serviced, missed or not yet serviced.  Clicking on any container will provide you with details such as the customer name and service time.

• View multiple items of information on the map simultaneously for up to four routes. This information includes the current vehicle location, alarm locations, vehicle activities, containers and the breadcrumb trail.

• Automatically view detailed container information on selected map areas including weight, size, service time and sequence.

• Identify unjustified stops.

• Show a chronological text view of all vehicle-related activities such as logon, security inspection, unjustified stops and idling and speeding alarms.

• Display any pictures associated with a stop by selecting that stop location.

• View a replay of events to show a vehicle’s activity in a specified area.

• Provide dispatch personnel with the current position of vehicles for quick and accurate dispatch decision-making.  This information can be displayed on a large screen monitor for quick access to the information without having to switch applications.

FleetLink Scales

Also recently introduced by FleetMind, FleetLink Scales is a patented new approach to using scales in commercial waste and recycling applications. This product is an onboard disposal weight management system that installs easily onto truck lifts and integrates seamlessly with back office systems.

“Until now, commercial waste weight management systems have typically required major truck modifications and been notoriously prone to damage,” said Martin Demers, CEO of Montreal-based FleetMind. “Our new FleetLink Scales system is designed to eliminate the key issues associated with current in-market solutions – expensive truck modifications, lack of back-office data correlation, and onerous requirements for ongoing maintenance and re-calibration.”

The FleetLink Scales system is designed to be less complex , more compact, more accurate, and it installs within a few hours, without requiring truck modifications. It also integrates easily with office systems to correlate and update customer information automatically without any manual intervention – which means no more end-of-day downloads or manual reconciliations.   Fleetlink Scales also require virtually no maintenance, and calibration is scheduled annually but rarely required.

According to the company, as this technology doesn’t rely on load cells, the system is more reliable and presents a low risk for damage. Plus, the system provides real-time access to data for immediate resolution to customer issues, and identifies extra services and weights for accurate billing.

Green Fleet Management

Back in November of 2009, FleetMind Solutions announced its solution to help waste, recycling and less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation firms “green” their fleets by reducing fuel consumption, mileage and emissions, and ensuring more efficient driver behavior.   “Green fleets are not only more responsible fleets, but more profitable ones as well,” said Martin Demers, CEO of FleetMind. “If your fleet is not managed effectively, you will generate unnecessary emissions and excess costs that negatively impact your bottom line. Current economic conditions and a growing concern for the environment are providing the impetus for more and more fleet managers to implement green policies and solutions. It is FleetMind’s mission to help make leaner and greener fleets a reality.”   FleetMind Solutions, Inc. www.fleetmind.com
