CrossCut blade system provides energy efficient shredding

WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH now offers a worldwide-patented CrossCut type of blade for all sizes of its single shaft shredders. The square rotor blades have a saw-tooth shaped grooved profile around the edges that enable enhanced ground material quality along with significantly reduced energy consumption and long blade lifetimes.

These new rotor blades can be reversed a number of times and are suitable for the shredding of plastics, wood, paper, cardboard and industrial waste. According to WEIMA, due to the grooved technique used, the intake behaviour is markedly better than with standard blades, whereby both faster shredding and therefore higher throughputs are possible. This furthermore ensures quiet running of the rotor, helping to preserve the bearings. The evenly shredded material is characterized by homogenous particle size distribution and very low content of fine material particles.

Rotor blades are offered in different blade qualities, so that settings can be made according to hardness or toughness of the task at hand, as well as in terms of the proportion of contaminants expected or in order to obtain optimum blade lifetimes. Rotor blades are available with edge lengths of 40, 50, 60 and 80 mm. The new CrossCut rotor blades can also be used in operation of single shaft shredders from other industry manufacturers.
