Metso Texas Shredder recently announced the sale of a TSH100 shredder to American Iron & Metal for installation in Belen, New Mexico. The 100 x 116 complete shredding system includes an infeed conveyor, downstream, and controls from Metso Texas Shredder and SGM and a 5,000-hp, DC power, shredder drive system from Quad Plus. The new shredding plant will have a capacity of 250 tons-per-hour and is expected to be operational by early fall of this year.
American Iron & Metal is based in Colorado where it currently operates shredding and recovery plants in Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
“Our decision to go with Texas Shredder was based on over a decade of exceptional service and support that Texas Shredder has provided us in the shredding field,” said Jim Warren, owner of American Iron & Metal. “We also believe that Metso’s new TSH series is the future for shredding plants.”
New Mexico’s Valencia County approved the 15-acre shredding facility to be located in the Rio Grande Industrial Park in Belen last year. American Iron & Metal also acquired an existing facility in Albuquerque as a feeder yard for the shredding operation.
