Oscillation option quadruples dust suppression coverage area

Dust Control Technology recently announced the introduction of a 180-degree oscillation option on its two largest designs, effectively quadrupling the coverage area of each machine. With this option, the company is now able to deliver effective particle control up to more than 80,000 square feet of area from a single location, using the DustBoss DB-60 (shown below). This allows users to cover nearly two full acres with a powerful dust-trapping mist.
The revised design uses a centre water feed to accommodate the increased range of motion, as well as larger motors on both the DB-60 and DB-45. Machines with the 180-degree oscillation option also have four different settings, and users can select from 45, 90, 135 or 180 degrees to suit specific job requirements.

The DB-60 employs a series of 30 specially-designed brass nozzles to atomize water into droplets of 50-200 microns in size, the optimum for effective particle attraction. Launched by a powerful 25-hp motor that generates 30,000 CFM (nearly 850 cubic metres per minute), the atomized spray has a throw of more than 200 feet (approximately 60 metres), yet the carriage-mounted device is completely portable, allowing it to be located wherever it’s needed most. The unit has an adjustable throw angle from 0-50 degrees elevation, and an optional 10-hp (7.5 KW) booster pump that elevates water pressure as high as 200 psi, for high levels of particle suppression.

The oscillating DB-45 model can deliver a virtual dust barrier that covers more than 40,000 square feet (approximately 3,716 square metres), with a throw of nearly half a football field. With its 15-hp (11.2 Kw) fan, the DB-45 generates 18,000 CFM (510 CMM) of air flow to maximize coverage and particle capture. Plus, like the more powerful DB-60, the design also features adjustable elevation from 0-50 degrees.

All DustBoss models are available with Dust Control Technology’s Variable Particle Sizing (VPS) technology, which provides a wide selection of different nozzles for suppressing a broad range of particle sizes. VPS can be used to control dust outside the typical 50-200 μm range, including odour-causing vapours and very fine solids. Any of the DustBoss designs can be ordered with a dosing pump to add surfactants for superior particle attraction or additives for odour control, and can be equipped with a supplemental filter system permitting the use of non-potable water sources.
