Prize-winning Liebherr Handler first in new line

Specially designed for bulk material handling, the LH 120 C is the first of a new line of material handlers to be added to Liebherr’s extensive range. According to Liebherr, the LH 120 C represents a new standard in user-oriented design of large material handlers and the model series to which it belongs has been renamed the Liebherr Handler.

Based on an innovative concept and weighing approximately 135 tonnes (297,600 pounds), the LH 120 C is designed as a versatile machine with high handling power that can transfer bulk material cost-effectively from one point to another. These units are an excellent alternative to dockside crane systems with lower mobility, and the modular-element principle adopted for both the basic machine and its working equipment provides solutions for a very wide range of operating requirements. The LH 120 C is obtainable in a high-rise version or a standard version without a raised tower.

Various undercarriage configurations and cab heights are available and maximum working radius is 25.5 m (83 feet 8 inches). Liebherr components and assemblies designed and manufactured in-house include the LH 120 C’s multi-circuit hydraulics and a Liebherr 400kW (543-hp) diesel engine. These handlers also feature reduced engine speeds, and hydraulic hoses and components of generous cross-section that help to keep fuel consumption low. Plus, the crawler undercarriage, which is of approximately equal length and width, guarantees high stability, and the LH 120 C is built with efficient, high-performance Positive Control multi-circuit hydraulics for optimal reliability and rapid load movement cycles.

In 2010, the Liebherr LH 120 C was awarded the Bauma Innovation Prize, in the Design category, chosen by trade associations within the German Construction Industry.
