GS series baler/logger/shears

Harris GS series baler/logger/shears are designed to fulfil the requirements of electric arc furnace operations, and offer superiority by utilizing 100-hp motors, horizontally-mounted pumps, and independent load tables, which allow for more visual inspection of material by the operator when material is dumped into the charging box. Units are available in 900- and 1,100-ton shearing capacities (designated GS 9 and GS 11 models) and incorporate a simple to use OIT control panel with basic commands, operational information and diagnostics, and production reporting. These baler/logger/shears feature a true clamshell box with side compression force for superior trapping and sizing of bulky material, and are designed to deliver high levels of performance to keep pace with a company’s sustained growth, and provide a lower overall operating cost per ton. To bale or log, the GS series has up to 226 tons of baling force. Other key features include: an advanced hydraulic system which utilizes flooded suction pumps for decreased cycle times; durable, easy to service leaf type individual hinges; a grease lubrication system; shear and clamp cylinders that are easily accessible from the top of the shear frame; and pre-wiring for easier installation (on GS 9 models).
