Gorilla and Centurion balers
The Harris Gorilla is engineered to provide dense bales and high throughputs for a variety of materials. Designed for easy operation and simple maintenance, the Gorilla features the patented Harris Smartknife system and the optional Harris Combo Door. These balers contain many standard features, such as choice of fully automatic or manual operation, self diagnostics, ram positioning and pressure indicators, multiple baling modes, Solid State controls, and 3,500 psi system operating pressure.
In 2008, a Gorilla model 100S 4 13/9 was installed at Freedom Metals, Inc. where it is currently processing all grades of both ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials. Also available from Harris, the HRB Centurion is the fastest 2-Ram Baler in its class, according to the company, and features a strong charge box and efficient hydraulic design that boosts productivity and minimizes maintenance costs. Earlier this year, a new HRB-Centurion 150-13/9 Two Ram Baler (shown right) was installed at Midwest Scrap Management out of Kansas. Midwest reports rapid expansion, and are raising their non-ferrous intake to between 800,000 and 1,000,000 pounds per month, with expectations to exceed 3,000,000 pounds per month.
