Orange peel grabs
Kinshofer’s new P36V/P51V orange peel grabs are available with four or five tines, for volumes from 600 to 1,000 litres. Load capacity is 10,000 kg, and opening ranges are from 2,220 to 2,445 mm. High torque rotators on the new P-series are designed to be extremely flat and compact, with four-point bearing, and large cross-sections in the swivel that guarantee a high operating speed at low oil temperature. These units will handle high transverse movements and impact loads, with a fifteen ton axial load capacity. Bearings use generously-sized pin connections, induction-hardened pins seated in steel bushes, and tine heads and main bearings are widely spaced in order to absorb distortion as well as reduce the face pressure in the bushings.
Tines on the new P-series are designed slim and optimized for good penetration. There are no protruding parts, and massive end-stops relieve hydraulics in extreme positions. The main carrier features an enveloping design which protects hydraulic cylinders and hoses, with good access for maintenance, and radiation detector or magnet mounting is possible. All components are stress and weight optimized with FEM (meaning 10 percent weight reduction at 20 percent stress reduction) use high-strength fine grained steel, and all wear plates are made from 400 HB highly wear-resistant steel.
