These horizontally-fed granulators are designed to be quieter and more efficient than gravity-fed size-reduction equipment. Designated the SB Series, five new models will granulate containers made of PET and other recyclable plastics at rates of up to seven tons per hour. These units use horizontal feeding screws, which force materials from the hopper to an adjacent cutting chamber at a steady, even pace and result in higher throughput – up to 30 to 50 percent compared to similar-size gravity-fed cutting chambers, according to the manufacturer.
