Coastal Waste & Recycling

Founded in 2017 by Brendon Pantano, Coastal Waste & Recycling is a regional waste management firm based in the Southeastern United States. Pantano, a third-generation industry professional, established the company following his family's history with Fredonia Sanitary Services, which operated from the 1950s until its acquisition by BFI in 1985. This background informed the company's focus on the full waste lifecycle, from collection to disposal.

The organization's growth strategy combines organic expansion with targeted acquisitions. Within its first year, Coastal acquired four companies in the Southeast Florida market. By 2023, the company had grown to employ over 1,100 people across three states, managing a diverse portfolio of hauling and post-collection operations.

In the spring of 2023, Coastal entered a partnership with Macquarie Asset Management. This investment provided the capital and technical support necessary to expand the company's waste infrastructure. Currently, Coastal operates as one of the largest private solid waste and recycling businesses in the region, focusing on expanding its service footprint into adjacent geographies.
