DVO, Inc.’s (DVO) Phosphorus Recovery system recently received honours at the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Nutrient Recycling Challenge Summit in Washington, DC. The goal of the challenge was to identify technologies that not only help farmers manage nutrients from livestock manure and create valuable products, but also protect the environment.
Green Cow Power is a large digester facility which is now converting off-farm organic wastes and dairy manure into energy with two DVO, Inc. (DVO) Two-Stage Mixed Plug Flow digesters. Located in Goshen, Indiana, it is the largest waste-to-energy facility in Elkhart County and the eighth largest digester operation in Indiana. It was also recently awarded the American Biogas Council’s 2015 Agricultural Biogas Project of the Year award.
The Storms Farm anaerobic digester installation, “Swine Farm Biogas Renewable Energy Project,” earned a National Recognition Award as part of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) 2015 Engineering Excellence Awards Gala earlier this year n Washington, DC. The National Recognition Award is a prestigious distinction honoring projects that demonstrate exceptional achievement in engineering.
DVO has introduced a solution that removes 75 to 95 percent of phosphorus from anaerobically-digested wastes. The company says they have successfully commissioned this system at a full-scale for a large dairy farm, a commercial mixed-waste anaerobic digestion facility and a dedicated poultry litter digester.
Installation and construction is nearly complete on a DVO Inc. anaerobic digester scheduled to open at Calgren Renewable Fuels on September 30, 2014 in Pixley, California. This is DVO’s first installation in California, and the state’s only next-generation anaerobic digester.
