The event had a very international feel with dealers and end-user customers in attendance from North and South America, Europe, Russia, Japan and South Africa. Introduced at bauma 2013, the new Terex Finlay 883 Spaleck 3D Combi Flip-Flow screen is the result of a joint partnership between Terex Finlay and Spaleck, a German-based manufacturer of static recycling screening technology. At the heart of this mobile plant is a two-deck high performance screenbox. Plus, a unique, stepped, 3D top deck design is combined with state-of-the-art flip flow technology on the bottom deck provides for processing of difficult materials and a high degree of screening accuracy.
Terex Finlay has launched two variants of their tracked mobile cone crusher - the C-1540 and C-1540RS. These new models feature a high performance Terex 1000 Cone Chamber with a 40-inch (1,000 mm) head size, and incorporate a hydraulic setting, tramp release and unblocking system. With the hydrostatic drive and advanced electronic control system, operators can select from five cone head speed settings which permits the optimization of the chamber and provides extra protection. C-1540 and C-1540RS mobile cone crushers have an advanced PLC control/monitoring system that facilitates an automatic start/stop sequence for increased user-friendly operation and reduced operator error. The machines also feature an innovative, patent pending, metal detection and purge system. When any metal objects are detected on the feed conveyor, the feeder belt automatically stops and metal detection beams alert the operator. The feeder belt can be hydraulically retracked to its purge position, and the contaminated section of material is ejected from the machine. Once the contaminated material is removed the machine can resume crushing. Plus, the hydrostatic drive on these units provides precise control, ensuring that operators can vary the speed of the cone chamber for maximized throughput. Standard hopper capacity is 6.5yd³ (5m³) and incorporates a series of crash bars to reduce impact on the belt. Optional hopper extensions are available that increase the capacity to 10.5yd³ (8m³), and a drop down rear door for auxiliary crusher feed is fitted as standard. These machines also feature a pre-screen module to maximize throughput, reduce cone packing and wear on cone liners, and if required the pre-screen can be bypassed. Additionally, C-1540 and C-1540RS mobile cone crushers fold hydraulically for transport, are fitted with heavy duty crawler tracks, and optional radio remote control is available which makes on-site mobility extremely easy. The C-1540RS is built around the same common platform as the C-1540 but offers the versatility of a crushing and screening plant on one chassis. These units also feature larger tracks, a 12- by 9-foot (3,660- by 1,520-mm), detachable double-deck sizing screen, transfer conveyor modules, recirculation conveyor and a fines stockpiler conveyor. Plus, a recirculation screen can be rapidly detached with a quick release hydraulic and electrical connection if necessary, which allows the machine to be moved around a site and leads to more efficient operation. The system can be detached or re-attached in less than 10 minutes without the need for lifting equipment, and the core software/ control system can recognize and adjust to suit automatically. Startup time for both variants is minimal, with the machines ready for operation in less than five minutes.
