Bayne Manufacturing moves operations

At the end of 2014, Bayne Premium Lift Systems, a division of Environmental Solutions Group (ESG), moved their manufacturing operations from Greenville, SC to the new ESG facility in Phoenix, AZ. The Bayne mobile refuse lifter product line is now being manufactured in Phoenix and the commercial and industrial lifter product line will be produced in Vernon, AL.

Tuscaloosa facility reopens after post-tornado rebuild

Just days before devastating tornados ripped across the southern United States on April 27, 2011, the Environmental Services Department in Tuscaloosa, Alabama had been tasked by the city to develop a long-term plan for expanding and upgrading recycling services. The direction was to develop long term goals including a five and ten year plan for service upgrades for the City of Tuscaloosa. (Tuscaloosa is the fifth largest city in Alabama with a population of 93,357 (2012), and also home to the University of Alabama.)

Heil launches 23-yard Half/Pack Freedom

Environmental Solutions Group acquires Curotto-Can Company and announces new Triple Bottom Line program

Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) announced just prior to this year's Waste Expo (May 20-24) their acquisition of The Curotto-Can Company of Sonoma, CA.  The Curotto-Can is known for their automated carry can that mounts to the forks of a commercial front loader, converting the unit to an automated front loader. This system enables a commercial refuse collection unit to also be used for residential pickups, with efficiency and versatility superior to that seen in automated side loaders.

World’s largest cold weather fleet of CNG waste and recycling trucks on the road in Winnipeg

Emterra Environmental,  headquartered in Burlington, Ontario, and part of the Emterra Group takes the “environmental” portion of its name seriously. When it came down to which supplier could best help Emterra switch from traditional diesel-powered vehicles to CNG units, General Manager of Metro Vancouver, Nevil Davies, did some very comprehensive research. The overall goal Davies said, is to support Emterra’s corporate sustainability effort to dramatically reduce the environmental impact of its collection of waste and recyclables. The company, one of the largest waste management companies operating in Canada, has over 400 trucks, 800 employees and 15 material recovery facilities stretching from Ontario to B.C.

Split-body rear loader collects multiple commodities on a single route

Heil Environmental recently announced the launch of the new DuraPack 4060 Split-Body Rear Loader, an enhancement to the company’s offering of multi-compartment refuse and recycling collection vehicles. According to Heil, the DuraPack 4060 is the ideal vehicle for manually collecting multiple commodities on a single route. It has the compaction power to handle bulky ferrous waste like used appliances and sheet metal scraps, and the sealing ability to handle wet waste like organics or food scraps.
