Waste Management, Inc. and Advanced Disposal Services, Inc. announced April 15th that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which a subsidiary of Waste Management will acquire all outstanding shares of Advanced Disposal for $33.15 per share in cash, representing a total enterprise value of $4.9 billion when including approximately $1.9 billion of Advanced Disposal's net debt.

GFL Environmental Inc. announced May 2 that it has entered into a definitive agreement with Waste Management of Canada Corporation to buy Waste Management's assets in the Provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador. The closing is subject to conditions, including obtaining certain regulatory and contractual consents. GFL and Waste Management will work together to obtain the required consents and expect to close the purchase in due course. GFL has committed to make all of Waste Management's employees in Atlantic Canada part of the GFL team.

Waste Management, Inc. (WM) announced in May a strategic investment in the Peninsula Compost Company, LLC (PCC), which owns and operates the Wilmington Organic Recycling Center (WORC). According to WM, WORC is the only fully operational and permitted in-vessel organics processing center in the Delaware, Maryland and Virginia area.
