The new AXS Extreme Duty Single Shaft Shredder from AEC is designed to provide the versatility needed to handle nearly any application. Available in three models (AXS1500, AXS2000 and AXS3000), and with numerous capabilities, the AXS Series offers rugged construction with heavy duty bearings to handle the toughest material. Units process large extruder purgings, large reject parts, trim scraps, baled or loose film, synthetic fibre, wood processing scrap, medical waste, cardboard, paper, as well as carpet. Serrated ram plates hold product in the rotor, making large awkward pieces easier to process, and a sturdy “swing-style” ram minimizes space and allows product to fall into the rotor, while outboard mounted bearings reduce contamination. Units feature a large 29.5-inch (750 mm) diameter rotor for positive ingestion, bolted-in cutter seats for easy removal and maintenance, and low speed rotor (54 rpm) transmitting high cutting torque for tough applications. Square cutters (60 mm) are reversible for quick changes. The rotor is abrasion-resistant for long life and dual-motor-driven for even horsepower displacement on both ends. Outboard mounted bearings to reduce contamination are additional standard features, and optional features include: a hydraulic screen cradle, rotor cooling, PLC controls with display, chamber wear protection and infeed and discharge conveyors.
