IPL Inc., one of the leading North American producers of injection-molded plastic products, says they have recently pushed the limits of manufacturing and distribution in delivering an important project for the Regional Municipality of Peel, the second largest municipality in Ontario, after Toronto.
IPL’s MantisWay is an integrated locking and unlocking system for waste collection. This solution lets carts stay locked until they are automatically unlocked at collection time. The comprehensive system is safe, effective and easy to use, allowing municipalities to offer their residents better service for less and to keep storage areas clean and secure. The system consists of two parts: the locking device and the unlocking mechanism. The IPL unlocking system was developed with the automated Mantis arm to allow safe single-operator waste and recyclables collection.
IPL Inc., one of North America’s leading manufacturers of plastic products, submitted the winning bid for a contract by the City of Guelph to produce 135,000 wheeled carts for the Ontario municipality. The carts will be manufactured at IPL’s Saint-Damien, Quebec, plant, with deliveries beginning in the summer of 2012.
