Metal finder for shredders uses advanced technology

Wendt’s Metal Finder Systems utilize advanced sensor sorting technology and fully adjustable sensitivity to produce a clean mixed metals product by separating the plastics fraction. The Metal Finder includes German technology developed by CommoDaS GmbH based in Wedel.
The SSE Metal “X” Finder is designed for use by auto shredding facilities to pick up where eddy current separators leave off. Metals are fired upwards and forwards, working with existing momentum. Large and small pieces of metal are recovered, as well as insulated and bare copper wire. The SSE Metal “X” Finder separator package features two overlapping rows of sensors for full belt coverage (no gaps) and an intelligent Sensor Technology for separating mixed metals, stainless steel, ferrous, non-ferrous, and big pieces from small metal. Metals are ejected by firing strong, tightly focused bursts of air. Units use a fibre optic, high speed computer control system and include multiple program settings for running different products as well as variable air burst control with adjustable duration and intensity. Three Finder models are available with up to 120 sensors, throughputs up to 36 tph, input material size up to five inches, a 10-foot long vibrating pan feeder, and a conveyor belt speed of 590 FPM. An optional cold weather package is available.
These units are customizable and work well as the final step in e-scrap processing. They are also ideal for recovering stainless steel, copper windings, insulated and bare wire, for processing fluff on site and to minimize the need for outsourcing recovery.
